Based in Alsager, on the South Cheshire/North Staffordshire border, we are independent in our product offering and provide unbiased advice and technical support. The Opportunity: Internal Technical Sales Engineer
Hydraulics Online has established a global footprint in search engines online: the company’s website attracts traffic and generates high volumes of inbound enquiries from a diverse, UK-wide and international visitor base.
You will be a key member of our dedicated sales team, assisting customers by providing technical support and quotations, and overseeing orders through to dispatch. A confident and organised team player, you will work on your own initiative and be at ease with cloud-based technology and operating systems. Above all, you will be customer-focused. These qualities are fundamental to our ongoing success.
The ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge of hydraulics, a proven track record of success selling high specification technical products and will combine well-developed interpersonal skills with a strong technical and commercial ability to support the company’s growth targets.
The successful candidate can expect a competitive, uncapped remuneration package reflecting their experience and abilities.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Servicing domestic and international enquiries; determining appropriate component and technical specifications and generating corresponding customer quotations.
- Managing the sales pipeline and keeping customers informed of progress etc.
- Developing customer relationships to position Hydraulics Online as their “go to” hydraulics partner and source of supply.
- Identifying business development opportunities and improved ways of working across the company’s diverse supplier base.
Personal Skills and Attributes:
The skills and experience required include, but are not limited to:
- Sound hydraulic engineering background and technical experience.
- Ambitious, professional, honest and values-driven with personality.
- Excellent customer service, with proven sales aptitude and relationship focus.
- Excellent attention to detail and highly effective in assimilating and conveying data.
- Good time management and ability to prioritise.
- Uses own initiative, is self-motivated with a “can do” and tenacious attitude.
- Shares ideas and information; always looking for ways to improve and develop self and team.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable team player, who thrives under pressure and whose glass (or coffee cup) is always half full.
Remuneration: An attractive remuneration package is on offer, depending on experience, including an uncapped commission scheme.
Working Week: Monday to Thursday: 08:30am to 5:00pm, Friday: 08:30am to 4:00pm. Office-based at ST7 2QR
Holidays: Twenty-five days annual leave per annum, plus statutory bank holidays, and an extra day off for your birthday – even in years when it falls on a weekend, but we have to have cake when you’re next in!
