The Institute of Customer Service UK Customer Satisfaction Awards
The UK Customer Satisfaction Awards are the UK’s most prestigious customer service awards – run by THE professional body for customer service – and in a room filled with household names as finalists, Hydraulics Online was recognised for its outstanding customer commitment to businesses globally.
Founded in 1996, The Institute of Customer Service works nationally with business, the public sector and the Government to drive business performance through service excellence. The UK Customer Satisfaction Awards provide the opportunity for organisations to showcase their commitment to service excellence and be recognised for their tenacity, creativity and innovation.
The big night took place in London on 12 March 2024 with many household names amongst those shortlisted including: Sky, Virgin Atlantic, Specsavers, Dulux, Volkswagen, Auto Windscreen, Octopus Energy, Knight Frank, Laithwaites, United Utilities, Openreach, Redrow, Boots, Shell, Severn Trent, Ageas, Talk Mobile and more.
We are thrilled to share the news that Hydraulics Online Ltd has been shortlisted for the 2023 National Family Business of the Year Awards. Now in their 11th year, these awards are a celebration of the family business sector across the whole of the UK, recognising the achievements of great family firms, large and small, old and new, from all sectors of the economy.
There are over 5 million family businesses in the UK with many operating for a multitude of years and generations. So, despite turning a grown-up 18-years-old at the end of 2022, Hydraulics Online is still a relative youngster compared to many of those shortlisted.
Shortlisted for the High Sheriff’s Awards for Enterprise
We’re delighted to announced that Hydraulics Online has been shortlisted in the Cheshire High Sheriff’s awards for Enterprise.
The awards have been celebrating businesses and business people in the Cheshire, Halton and Warrington areas since 2006, when they were launched by the then High Sheriff of Cheshire, David Briggs MBE.
This year’s awards have received a huge number of entries – highlighting the resilience of businesses and businesspeople throughout Cheshire, Halton and Warrington and our shared determination to emerge from the pandemic period with our best feet forward.
Hydraulics Online Founder wins Institute of Directors Award
In its first-ever virtual awards ceremony, the Institute of Directors has named our very own Helen Tonks as the North West & Isle of Man Director of the Year in the Family Business category.
The IoD is the UK’s longest-running organisation for directors from all sectors, shapes and size of organisation. Ever since its formation in 1903, the IoD has been at the forefront of British business.

On Friday 31st January 2020, DIT Export Champions, Hydraulics Online was crowned winners of the Greater China ‘Rising Star’ Award at the exuberant annual event held at the Lowry Theatre in Salford, Manchester.
The Greater China Awards are open to any company or organisation in North West England, that has made a significant contribution to developing business with Greater China (mainland, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) in the last year. This may include bi-lateral trade or investment, education and community sectors.

Recognised for our Family Values & Roots
We are delighted to announce that Hydraulics Online is a finalist in the Manufacturing & Engineering category of the North West Family Business Awards 2020. We beat strong competition with a record number of 192 businesses entering the awards from across the North West region.

Winner of Insider Media Award
On Thursday 5th December, Hydraulics Online was crowned winner of the Insider Media North West International Company of the Year (up to £10m turnover) at the prestigious, annual media event held at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester.

Female Entrepreneur of the Year
Our Co-founder, Helen Tonks, has been crowned Female Entrepreneur of the Year at the prestigious regional FL National Awards & Summit.
The vibrant celebration and regional heat took place at Manchester’s Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel on Friday 13th September. The awards bring together female entrepreneurs, civil servants, charity founders, and other professionals to celebrate the best talent from across the North West of England, Wales and Ireland.
Collaboration Award Finalist
In April 2019 Hydraulics Online was shortlisted as a finalist in the Collaboration category by Insider Media’s Made in the North West 2019 awards, for our contributions to design innovation and customer collaborations within the manufacturing industry.
