Unlock Your Potential | We offer market-leading, cutting-edge hydraulic solutions for the research and education sector.
Life as we know it wouldn’t be possible without hydraulic engineering. The total sales of fluid power equipment is today worth over £1 billion in the UK, €12.6 billion across Europe and $42.3 billion globally (source: BFPA, 2017). These are big numbers and they are set to rise…
We look forward to the future. Hydraulic systems and applications are becoming more intelligent, versatile, precise and capable of being remotely controlled. At Hydraulics Online we are part of this progress. Supporting fluid power research, development and innovation is one of the cornerstones of our business objectives and we will continue to support and invest in this area.
We chose to work with Hydraulics Online because it has a very wide product offering and offers custom design services. Our design is different to existing market solutions so this expertise is important to us. Hydraulics Online has a clear track record in getting involved with interesting challenges, so they are the perfect partner for us.

Hyped about ‘HypED’
We’re immensely proud to be powering the next generation of hydraulic solutions. One such example was our partnership with University of Edinburgh’s student team, ‘HypED’ – building a prototype pod for Elon Musk’s ground-breaking SpaceX Hyperloop transport system concept.
Hydraulics Online’s sponsorship involved technical expertise and hydraulic equipment for the pod’s dynamic elements, which used a hydraulic circuit to engage the braking system at high speeds.

Mark Tonks, co-founder and MD at Hydraulics Online, said:
We are delighted to be supporting the HypED team in this exciting and innovative venture. The Hyperloop concept has been referred to as ‘disruptive’ because it has the potential to transform the way we travel – offering a greener solution for high-speed travel. It is exciting for us, because it demonstrates that hydraulics have an important role to play in the futuristic technologies of tomorrow. We are delighted to be working with the HypED team and will do everything we can to help support their bid in this competition.
Because Hydraulics Online is independent and not tied to any one manufacturer, I know that they are giving us the best solution and the best products for that solution.
