Continental Hydraulics Modular Stack Valves

Continental Hydraulics modular stack valves fit between a directional control valve and its subplate or manifold, adding circuit functions without extra pipework.

The range covers check, pressure control, flow control, blocking and load holding valves to NFPA D03 and D05 (ISO 4401-03 and 4401-05) mounting patterns.

Cast iron valves are rated up to 345 bar (5,000 psi), and aluminium pressure compensated flow controls and counterbalance valves up to 207 bar (3,000 psi). Flow ratings run up to 121 l/min (32 GPM), depending on the valve.

Continental Hydraulics Modular Stack Valve Range

Check Valves

  • C03MSV-D and C05MSV-D (Cast Iron): Direct operated check valves that prevent backflow and self-emptying of lines, or generate back pressure. For pressure or tank line circuits, up to 345 bar (5,000 psi) and 98 l/min (26 GPM).

Pressure Control Valves

  • P03MSV-RP and P05MSV-RP Relief Valves (Cast Iron): Pilot operated pressure relief valves that limit circuit pressure. Four pressure ranges up to 345 bar (5,000 psi), flows up to 121 l/min (32 GPM).
  • P03MSV-XC/XCT and P05MSV-XC/XCT Work Port Relief Valves (Cast Iron): Pilot operated relief valves for the A and B ports. XC versions relieve cross port; XCT versions relieve each work port to tank independently. Up to 345 bar (5,000 psi) and 121 l/min (32 GPM).
  • P03MSV-PDR and P05MSV-PD Pressure Reducing Valves (Cast Iron): Reduce pressure to a secondary circuit and hold it at the spring setting regardless of inlet pressure. Pressure reducing and reducing/relieving versions, with controlled outlet pressures up to 317 bar (4,600 psi).
  • P03MSV-SP and P05MSV-SP Sequence Valves (Cast Iron): Direct operated spool type sequence valves for operating two or more actuators in succession. Opening pressure adjustable from 10 to 276 bar (145 to 4,000 psi), flows up to 98 l/min (26 GPM).

Flow Control Valves

  • F03MSV-N* and F05MSV-N* Non-Compensated (Cast Iron): Meter-in or meter-out flow control with a check valve for reverse free flow, in the P, A, B or both A and B lines. Up to 345 bar (5,000 psi) and 121 l/min (32 GPM), with adjustment knobs available.
  • F03MSV-C* and F05MSV-C* Pressure Compensated (Aluminium): Fully adjustable flow control with an integral reverse flow check valve, holding a constant flow regardless of pressure or load changes. A sharp edged orifice reduces flow variation with viscosity. Up to 207 bar (3,000 psi) and 45 l/min (12 GPM).
  • P03MSV-*CC and P05MSV-*CC Pressure Compensators (Cast Iron): Two-way (restrictive) or three-way (bypass) pressure compensators, typically used with proportional directional valves to control flow independently of pressure changes. Fixed or adjustable differential pressure, up to 345 bar (5,000 psi) and 98 l/min (26 GPM).
  • F12M (Cast Iron): Pressure and temperature compensated flow control valve with a lockable adjustment. Internal pressure balancing allows the setting to be changed under pressure, and flow is held within 1 to 5% with a pressure differential of at least 10 bar (150 psi) across the valve.

Blocking Valves

  • F03MSV-BV and F05MSV-BV (Cast Iron): Zero leak work port blocking valves that block flow when de-energised and allow flow in both directions when energised. Typically used with zero-lap proportional valves to stop actuator movement when the system is shut down. Up to 345 bar (5,000 psi) and 114 l/min (30 GPM).

Load Holding Valves

  • C03MSV-P* and C05MSV-P* Pilot Operated Check Valves (Cast Iron): Allow free flow from the directional valve to the load and block it in reverse until pilot pressure of 30% of the load induced pressure is sensed in the opposite work port. Guided spool and poppet-seat design locks the load in position. Up to 345 bar (5,000 psi) and 121 l/min (32 GPM).
  • P03MSV-C* and P05MSV-C* Counterbalance Valves (Aluminium): Pilot assisted counterbalance valves that control an overrunning load or hold it in position by maintaining back pressure at the cylinder outlet, with an integral check for reverse free flow. Leakage of 0 to 5 drops per minute. Up to 207 bar (3,000 psi) and 114 l/min (30 GPM).
