Continental Hydraulics Proportional Valves

Continental Hydraulics proportional valves give electrically adjustable control of direction, flow and pressure in industrial hydraulic systems.

The range covers high response servo-proportional valves, proportional directional valves with or without on-board electronics (OBE) and spool position feedback, explosion proof valves for hazardous locations, compensated flow controls and proportional relief and reducing valves.

Valves are made to NFPA D03 to D10 (ISO 4401) mounting patterns, with pressures up to 345 bar (5,000 psi). On-board electronics are available with analogue, IO-Link or fieldbus interfaces.

Continental Hydraulics Proportional Valve Range

High-Performance Servo-Proportional Valves

  • VED03MX: D03 direct operated spool-in-sleeve valve with LVDT spool position sensing and on-board digital amplifier. Nominal flow 1 to 40 l/min, 8 ms step response, up to 345 bar (5,000 psi).
  • VED05MX: D05 direct operated version with nominal flow 60 to 100 l/min and 20 ms step response, up to 345 bar (5,000 psi).
  • VED0*MX: Pilot operated dual feedback valves with two LVDTs, in D05*, D07, D08, D10 and D11 sizes. Nominal flow 100 to 1,000 l/min, up to 345 bar (5,000 psi). Analogue or fieldbus interfaces across the range.

Proportional Directional Valves without On-Board Electronics

  • VED03M, VED05M and VED0*M: 4-way valves driven by external amplifier cards or a variable current supply, with centring springs that return the spool to centre on loss of power. VED03M: 4 to 26 l/min, 345 bar. VED05M: 30 to 60 l/min, 317 bar (4,600 psi). Pilot operated VED0*M (D05* to D10): 80 to 500 l/min, 345 bar. Equal metering, 2:1 ratio and, on pilot operated valves, regenerative spools. DIN and Deutsch coil connections.

Proportional Directional Valves with On-Board Electronics (G Series)

  • VED03MG, VED05MG and VED0*MG: Valves with factory preset on-board digital amplifiers and analogue, IO-Link or fieldbus interfaces. VED03MG: 4 to 26 l/min, 345 bar. VED05MG: 30 to 60 l/min, 317 bar. Pilot operated VED0*MG in 5 NFPA/ISO patterns: 80 to 500 l/min, 345 bar.

Proportional Directional Valves with Spool Position Feedback (J Series)

  • VED03MJ: D03 valve with on-board electronics and LVDT spool position feedback, less than 0.2% hysteresis and 22 ms step response. Nominal flow 1 to 30 l/min, 345 bar.
  • VED03MK: Higher performance D03 version with 15 ms step response, 4 to 30 l/min and 345 bar, with zero lap, equal metering and 2:1 spools.
  • VED05MJ: D05 version with 40 ms step response, 50 to 75 l/min and 317 bar.
  • VED0*MJ: Pilot operated J Series valves in 5 NFPA/ISO patterns, 80 to 800 l/min and 345 bar. Analogue, IO-Link or fieldbus interfaces.

Hazardous Location Proportional Valves

  • VED* HL KD2: Explosion proof proportional directional valves with ATEX, IECEx and INMETRO certification options. Direct operated in ISO 4401-03; pilot operated in CETOP P05 and ISO 4401-05, -07, -08 and -10. Top or side connections and a low temperature version down to -40°C.

Compensated Proportional Flow Control

  • EDF03M and EDF05M: Direct operated, normally closed, pressure compensated proportional flow control valves in two and three-way versions. Output flow is proportional to solenoid current. D03 and D05 mounting, 11 to 79 l/min (3 to 21 GPM), up to 248 bar (3,600 psi).

Proportional Pressure Control

  • VER03M and VER03MG Direct Operated Relief: D03 valves in 5 pressure ranges up to 345 bar, for piloting two stage valves or direct pressure control. VER03MG adds factory preset on-board electronics with IO-Link, analogue or fieldbus interfaces.
  • VER03MP and VER03MPG Pilot Operated Relief: Two stage relief valves in 5 pressure ranges up to 345 bar and flows up to 38 l/min (10 GPM). VER03MPG has on-board electronics.
  • VER*SP and VER*SPG Subplate Mounted Relief: Two stage relief valves to ISO 6264 in R06, R08 and R10 sizes, with four pressure ranges up to 345 bar and flows up to 492 l/min (130 GPM). A built-in manual relief valve is factory set to the top of the range. VER*SPG has on-board electronics.
  • VEP03MSV and VEP05MSV Reducing Valves: D03 and D05 modular stack 3-way pilot operated pressure reducing valves for remote control of secondary circuit pressure, with three outlet ranges up to 317 bar (4,600 psi) and 12 or 24 V solenoids.
