    Hydac Electronic Level Sensors

Hydac electronic level sensors are used to record the fill levels of fluid within a hydraulic system. The range is extensive in order to cater for a number of customer requirements. Both capacitive and contact free sensors are available.

Once the fill level is measured, these sensors can send switching signals in accordance with preset programs to maintain a necessary fill volume. Optionally, customers can configure the fill level to be output as an analogue signal for constant monitoring.

The level sensor range consists of the ENS 3000, HNS 526 and HNS 3000. Details of each respective product follow below.

    • The ENS 3000 is an electronic level switch with integrated display function. It is available with 1, 2 or 4 switching outputs and one optional analogue output signal. Sensors configured with the 4th output enable further switching signals beyond the standard minimum and maximum readings. For example, warning messages to avoid tank overflow or suctioning of an air from an empty tank. The ENS 3000 is applicable to hydraulic fluid, or water if necessary. Temperature sensors can also be configured on this item for increased monitoring functionality. Standard available rod lengths are 250mm, 410mm, 520mm and 730mm to fit a numerous of differing tank sizes.
    • The HNS 526 level switch is a highly compact, non-contact sensor for fluid level measurement in stationary applications. It measures through a radar process of sound reflecting from the top of the fill level. This gives it incredible accuracy and resolution. It can measure ranges up to 6400mm and can output various signals and information either digitally or converted to an analogue gauge. It has to be positioned vertically to the fill level, and is only applicable to pressure free applications.
    • The HNS 3000 is an electronic level switch with integrated display. The float-based sensor has 1, 2 or 4 switching outputs for high-precision analogue monitoring of the fluid level. Sensors configured with the 4th output enable further switching signals beyond the standard minimum and maximum readings. For example, warning messages to avoid tank overflow or suctioning of an air from an empty tank. Standard available rod lengths are 250mm, 410mm, 520mm and 730mm to fit a numerous of differing tank sizes, however customized rods up to 2500mm can be requested.

Standard specifications of Hydac electronic level sensors are:

    • Measuring range: -25 to +100 °C
    • Accuracy (level): ≤ ± 1.0 % FS
    • Accuracy(temperature): ± 1.5 °C

Common applications include machine tools, handling, assembly automation, intralogistics and packaging.
