Berarma PHPK Pumps
Berarma PHPK pumps are high-pressure variable-displacement vane pumps equipped with a hydraulic horsepower limiter, allowing flow rate to be adjusted instantly in response to circuit demand.
Variable displacement vane pumps are volumetric in design, delivering a maximum flow rate equivalent to their displacement at a given speed of rotation. Operating pressure is determined by the pressure loads encountered by the fluid within the system.
When outlet pressure reaches the pump’s set pressure, flow rate is automatically adjusted to match system requirements. At this point the pump reduces output to zero, maintaining near-constant pressure. Under zero-flow conditions, the pump delivers only enough oil to compensate for internal drain and piloting losses.
The horsepower limiter optimises power consumption by maintaining an essentially constant flow-pressure product (q × p) – as pressure increases, flow decreases proportionally, and vice versa, following a characteristic hyperbolic curve.
