Hydraulics Online – Flying High at  Manchester Airport!

Manchester Airport has launched its ‘More Than An Airport’ campaign (hashtag: #MoreThanMAN). This visual campaign celebrates the North of England and highlights how Manchester Airport unlocks new trade and community opportunities.

We’re proud to announce that Hydraulics Online was invited to be part of this high-profile campaign, together with other pioneering export businesses and charitable organisations in the North. The campaign features a series of images that will be displayed across Manchester Airport, to a footfall of nearly 30 million people!

Manchester Airport is the third busiest airport in the UK in terms of passenger numbers and also the busiest outside of London.

For Hydraulics Online, the ‘More Than An Airport’ campaign follows on the back of their appointment as 2019 Northern Powerhouse Export Champion by the UK’s Department for International Trade earlier this year – an accolade which recognises the company’s export reach into 130 countries and 20 market sectors worldwide.

Helen Tonks, Operations Director at Hydraulics Online says:

We’re delighted to represent the Northern Powerhouse community at Manchester Airport and to fly the flag for the fluid power industry. For us, the campaign also celebrates our partnership with Heritage Concorde and our hydraulic systems expertise in restoring the iconic ‘drop noses’ and visors for three Concorde aircrafts in the UK – one of which is Concorde G-BOAC, fittingly located at the Manchester Runway Visitors Park.

It’s very exciting to know that, in addition to being spotted at the airport, the campaign will reach even greater heights via social media, online and at various sites throughout the North.

Cherry Picked as “A Deal Maker”

Hydraulics Online is featured alongside more than 50 hand-picked companies and individuals from across the North including: The University of Manchester, Metrolink, Uncle Joe’s Mint Balls and Playdale Playgrounds based in Cumbria.

Aimed at highlighting the role Manchester plays in enabling export and trade links, creating jobs, inspiring young people and attracting investors and visitors to the North, the campaign includes a series of sub-themes (listed below). Based on our achievements in export, we’ve been given the theme ‘A Deal Maker’ by the campaign organisers.

    • A Community Champion
    • A Good Neighbour
    • A Dream Maker
    • A Bright Future
    • A Deal Maker
    • A Warm Welcome
    • A Gateway to the North
    • A Responsible Business
    • A Diversity Champion.

Manchester Airport – UK’s Gateway for the North

The campaign forms part of Manchester Airport’s £1 billion transformation programme, creating new jobs and expanding the airport’s terminals, car parks and air bridges, as well as enhancing its role as the UK’s gateway for the North.

Andrew Cowan, CEO of Manchester Airport comments:

We know Manchester Airport performs a vital role in driving international exports for businesses of all sizes across the region, as well as attracting visitors, students and investors to this great part of the world.

What the creation of this campaign has done is enable us to fully understand the many ways in which the international connectivity we provide truly makes the North a great place to visit and do business with.

We are also proud to be able to showcase the many community groups and organisations we support each year and promote businesses who are doing great things around the world through the eye-catching imagery.
