    Char‑Lynn is one of the most established names in low speed high torque hydraulic motor technology.

    The brand was created by hydraulic engineer Lynn Charlson and is now fully supported within Danfoss Power Solutions. Char‑Lynn motors are widely used in mobile machinery, agricultural equipment, construction machinery, forestry equipment and industrial systems that require smooth, reliable torque at low speeds.

    Char‑Lynn motors are built around the Orbit Principle, a design approach that delivers high power density, compact size and efficient torque output. The range includes spool valve motors, disc valve motors and VIS (Valve In Star) motors, along with specialised series for high pressure, high flow and compact installations. These motors are available in a wide selection of displacements, mounting options, shaft types and port configurations, making them suitable for a broad range of applications.

    Danfoss continues to develop and support the Char‑Lynn product family. Current offerings include the J, H, S and T-series spool valve motors; the 2000, 4000, 6000 and 10,000 series disc valve motors; the Delta series with integrated brake options; and the VIS 40 and VIS 45 motors for compact, high-performance systems.
