Euro Press Pack CGR Cylinder – Load Return

Description

The Euro Press Pack CGR Cylinder is a low profile, extremely high load return cylinder suitable for short stroke, intense applications. This pancake lock ring cylinder has a system preventing potential overstroke. The rod on these cylinders also has a coloured area of 10mm before maximum stroke has been reached.

Technical specifications of the Euro Press Pack CGR:

  • Force: 60-900 tons
  • Stroke: 50 mm
  • Maximum working pressure: 700 bar

Applications:

The CGR is best applied in situations where a heavy load has to be in  a raised position for long periods of time. The cylinder is equipped with a threaded safety nut, mechanically blocking the cylinder bobby – this allows operation in total safety under load. All of the cylinders are supplied with an integrated tilt saddle and eyelets in order to facilitate easy transport.

Euro Press Pack CGR cylinders are most suited to construction and maintenance of bridges, viaducts, building and industrial sites when work space is limited. The CGR is treated with a protective nitriding coat, giving it an excellent resistance to corrosion. This protection facilitates usage in adverse environments.

Standard equipment:

The CGR comes with an integrated tilt saddle to reduce the effects of an off-centred load. This cylinder is designed for limited-space applications. It can even stand the full load without a pressure distribution plate fitted beneath.

Recommendations:

It is recommended that pressure plates are placed both under the base and on top of the saddle to distribute the load if the support resistance is not compatible with the pressure shown in the manufacturers guidance chart. Non compliance with this notice could result in damage to the cylinder and/or the load being lifted.

If the cylinder is above 20mm of stroke, it is suggested to avoid a side component, despite the standard tilt saddle.

The operator must always be in a position to view the cylinder rod in order to see when the coloured band appears, signaling 10mm to full extension.

Users should note the important requirement to lower the pressure inside the cylinder before disconnecting the quick coupler. Practicing this avoids problems re-inserting if lowering the load. In the case that pressure persists it is possible to use the KTS38 apposite tool in order to lower the pressure in the couplers.
