    Vickers EH Series Electrohydraulic Cylinders

Vickers EH Series electrohydraulic cylinders combine a high-performance hydraulic cylinder, precision feedback transducer and control valve mounting manifold in a single package. Built on NFPA tie-rod, mill-duty, welded or threaded cylinder bodies, the EH series adds integrated position feedback and valve mounting to any of these base constructions, rather than being a separate cylinder body style in its own right.

By integrating all components, the EH series eliminates the need for a separate hydraulic manifold, plumbing between the control valve and cylinder, and a transducer mounting bracket, reducing cost and complexity compared with a custom-assembled system. A Danfoss proportional, directional control, servo or AxisPro programmable valve can be pre-mounted onto the configured cylinder and adjusted to the customer’s specification, giving advanced closed-loop motion control with infinite positioning and high repeatability.

Simplified plumbing and electrical connections eliminate repetitive setups, and programmable motion control enables faster cycles than conventional hydraulic circuitry, which can improve yield in the production cycle. The single-source design also lets distributors and OEMs source the cylinder and control valve together, reducing the number of suppliers and potential leak points in the system.

A precision, non-contacting position transducer (Balluff or MTS) is fitted as standard, with an optional cast aluminium cover to protect it in harsh environments. The piston rod is case-hardened and hard chrome-plated as standard, with alternative laser-clad, thermal spray and galvanic coatings available for corrosive or abrasive environments such as offshore and marine applications; see Rod Coating Options below.

    Rod Coating Options

Available as an alternative to standard case-hardened, hard chrome plating, for applications requiring enhanced corrosion, wear or abrasion resistance.

    ABC-L1 (laser clad)

High performance, field-repairable, DNV-certified rod coating. Designed for increased uptime and reliability in demanding applications such as oil rigs and ships, with superior corrosion resistance in saltwater splash zones.

    ABC-L2 (laser clad)

Laser-cladding rod coating with excellent corrosion resistance and ductility for non-splash-zone applications.

    ABC-L3 (laser clad)

Laser-cladding rod coating with excellent corrosion resistance and ductility for top derrick applications.

    ABC-H1 (HVOF)

Metallic HVOF-sprayed coating for highly corrosive and abrasive environments.

    ABC-P3 (plasma sprayed)

Metal oxide plasma-sprayed coating for abrasion and corrosion resistance in fresh and brackish water environments, and for hypochlorite applications.

    ABC-G1 (galvanic)

Galvanic hard chromium plating with standard wear resistance and corrosion resistance.

    ABC-G2 (galvanic)

Galvanic nickel chromium plating with standard wear resistance and increased corrosion resistance.
