Continental Hydraulics Pumps
Continental Hydraulics has manufactured variable volume, pressure compensated pumps since 1955.
The range covers PVX, PVR and PVER variable displacement vane pumps, HPVR and LPV variable displacement axial piston pumps, and gear pumps for industrial and mobile applications.
Variable pumps reduce their output to match system demand once the set pressure is reached, saving energy and reducing heat. Continuous duty pressures run up to 276 bar (4,000 psi) on the HPVR piston pump and up to 350 bar (5,075 psi) on the WSP gear pump.

Variable Displacement Vane Pumps
- PVX Series (Hydraulically Compensated): Bias pistons act on the cam ring, allowing a wide choice of control options. Large pumping chambers and the port plate design give smooth flow and pressure and tolerance of poor fluid conditions. Displacements from 16.8 to 164 cc, continuous duty pressure up to 207 bar (3,000 psi).
- PVER Series: Direct-spring, pressure compensated variable vane pumps in four displacements up to 23.3 cc and flows up to 40 l/min. If you need a PVER, our team can confirm current availability and supply the right equivalent for your application.
- PVR Series (Direct-Spring Compensated): A spring acting directly on the cam ring changes displacement in response to system demand, with few moving parts, fast reaction and walking ring design for durability and low cost of ownership. Displacements from 11.5 to 162 cc, continuous duty pressure up to 138 bar (2,000 psi).
Variable Displacement Axial Piston Pumps
- HPVR Series (Trunnion Design): Trunnion bearing swash plate design for reduced hysteresis and long life in high cycle applications, with a variety of compensator controls. Displacements from 14.4 to 65 cc, continuous duty pressure up to 276 bar (4,000 psi).
- LPV Series (Saddle Block): Variable swash block piston pumps for open loop circuits at intermediate pressures where low noise and a small frame size are needed. Displacements from 8 to 46 cc, continuous duty pressure up to 207 bar (3,000 psi).
Gear Pumps
- Roller Bearing Series (1500, 1900, 2400 and 2900): High-density cast-iron gear pumps and motors with pressure lubricated roller bearings, relatively insensitive to contamination. An outboard bearing option allows limited side loading on the shaft. Displacements from 12.09 to 236.47 cc, continuous duty pressure up to 207 bar (3,000 psi).
- World Series WSP40 and WSP50: Compact, quiet, heavy duty gear pumps for modern mobile machinery. Displacements from 12 to 88 cc, continuous duty pressure up to 350 bar (5,075 psi).
- HY Series: Low noise helical gear pumps and motors with an aluminium alloy housing, sleeve bearings and cast-iron flange and cover, for standard and heavy-duty applications. Single or multiple units with a wide choice of flanges, shafts and ports. Displacements from 1 to 61 cc, continuous duty pressure up to 260 bar (3,770 psi).
