Vickers Proportional Valve Amplifiers Electronics

Vickers proportional valve amplifier cards provide electrical control for proportional hydraulic valves in cabinet-mounted applications, where the control electronics are kept separate from the hydraulic valve. Cards are available for pressure control, directional control and throttle valve functions, matched to specific valve families; see Card and Valve Family Reference below.

Each card can be tuned on site to drive the system’s valves with precision, speed and accuracy, with adjustment for zero point or deadband compensation on all types, and gain adjustment on types A, B, C and F. A user-friendly front panel with LED indicators allows operators to monitor and adjust card functions easily, with monitor points for the conditioned command signal and either spool position LVDT signal or solenoid current.

Cards accept both voltage and current input signals, translating them to standard, efficient pulse-width-modulated output signals. A switchable ramp function generator controls the rate of increase and decrease of output, and electronic overload protection with automatic reset helps protect the system. The current Series 33 card range is backwards compatible with earlier -32, -30, -20, -14 and -12 designs, so if you have an older Series 32 card, its Series 33 equivalent is a direct, like-for-like replacement with the same part numbering pattern; please contact our team for help identifying the correct current card.

Card Options by Function

The A version controls the basic valve function; B through F versions add application boards for open- and closed-loop pressure and position control.

Type A

Basic valve function control.

Type B

Command logic module with 2 ramps, enabling separate adjustment of acceleration and deceleration.

Type C

Command logic module with 4 ramps, allowing acceleration and deceleration to be set separately for both directions of movement.

Type D

PID module, replacing two conventional electronic cards.

Type E

Strip guidance controller module, controlling the position of an electrohydraulic actuator using optical sensors; can be used for strip-edge or strip-centre guidance, or stack height control.

Type F

CNC adaptation module, replacing two conventional electronic cards; used for high-accuracy positioning systems with inexpensive standard proportional valves and CNC axis or PLC position controls.

The following Series 32 cards have been discontinued rather than carried forward to Series 33, either because the model is no longer available or demand has been zero.
