The Hawe KA and KAW series are highly compact hydraulic power packs. The motor shaft of the electric motor also acts as the pump shaft, and the electric drive runs in oil. These ready-for-connection hydraulic power packs have the stator securely attached to the housing tank. The KA and KAW are suitable for hydraulic systems with operating mode S2, S3 or S6. The heat is dissipated via surface convection so that no external cooler is usually necessary, keeping dimensions small. Furthermore, the KA and KAW series are suitable for highly compact hydraulic systems as connection blocks and valve banks can be directly mounted.
For systems with high loads, an external fan that enables additional heat dissipation can be optionally mounted on the housing. The fan is powered by a separate motor independently of the pump motor, meaning maximum utilisation of power for oil flow.
The KA type contains a 3-phase motor, while the KAW contains a single-phase-motor. Both variations can be mounted in horizontal or vertical orientations. if necessary, modules can be added to the tank so to change the volume of oil in the system. Either single-circuit systems or dual-circuit systems can be selected. A radial piston pump or external gear pump can be used, depending on the specific requirements. Long lifetime and increased availability can be maximised when employing the radial piston pumps.
Low oil-fill volumes allow less oil to be used, hence running costs for replacing hydraulic fluid are cut – this also reduces the environmental impact of running this system. Running costs are also limited by under-oil motor cooling, direct power transmission and optimised heat dissipation in order to reduce energy consumption.
