A cartridge valve is inserted into a standard size cavity in a manifold block and is held in place with either self-contained screw threads, or a cover secured with bolts.

Cartridge valves may be of a slip-in or screw-in design and can perform directional, pressure or flow control functions… and there are many to different types to choose from!
